ESALA TECTONICS 2015

This year the studio proposed a Further Education College for Dalmarnock, Glasgow. This is the third year the unit has worked with this community, and the first year in the aftermath of the Commonwealth Games held last year.

Again students began by imagining a future for Dalmarnock, and then designing their civic building proposition to be a part of that future scenario.

The work raises questions of how we plan civic futures for our cities; the worth of masterplans; control of an area by the resident community / local developer / council / national and international forces.

The final Unit Publication is available for download as a PDF here (35MB)
